Picture yourself as an explorer and you come across a weird signal in deep space which is on an abandoned crater. What would you do if you found an undiscovered artifact could make you famous or bring uncertain doom, well in the world of geophysicist Michael Altman it is about to become a horror story. Coming from Tor Books one of the largest sellers of Science Fiction novels teamed up with EA to bring you Dead Space: Martyr. Thanks to B.K. Evenson for bringing this story to a greater height in horror reading material. This is a first look into the highly acclaimed video game being brought to you in paper back form.
Taken from Tor editor, Eric Raab saying “One of the most compelling storytelling aspects of Dead Space has been the Church of Unitology: its origins, power, and role in Dead Space,” This is just the first chapter in the Dead Space Saga featuring Altman’s experience through the terrifying secret of the Chicxulub crater and the artifact which gives you visions of the dead, vivid dreams and psychotic murders. Some of you might recognize some of B.K Evenson’s earlier work for example “Altmann’s Tongue “, “Father of Lies”, and of course most recently “Pariah” in Halo: Evolutions – Essential Tales of the Halo Universe.
Added gratitude goes to Executive Producer of Dead Space 2, Steve Papoutsis who states “The Dead Space world is incredibly vast and rich — expanding its fiction into a novel lets us share parts of the story that just can’t fit into videogames.” I always agree since a lot of video games have a greater story to tell beyond what you play on the consoles. Thanks goes out to Justin Golenbock, Publicist for letting me share this sneak peek into Dead Space: Martyr which will be released July 2010. As always gamers keep checking our page for more information on upcoming video games, reviews and of course video game novels, stay frosty gamers!
