Game Review: Scott Pilgrim vs The World

Ubisoft released Scott Pilgrim vs The World yesterday on PSN, and although I’m totally engulfed in Red Dead Redemption, I took some time out to get this awesome title.

Check out my review after the jump…

I loved the soundtrack which was done by Anamanaguchi, its quite catchy and found myself humming to it a lot while I was playing, which doesn’t surprise me cause Anamanaguchi totally fucking rocks!  I loved how the game was very close to the actual story (which I hope is true for the movie that’s out this Friday).  I found myself giggling while playing, especially when I went into the video rental store (that should have been an trophy, to pay off Scott’s debt!).  And the sushi restaurant, but the coolest was the Subspace areas… I totally loved how they made them look  like it was completely broken.

I do have to say that I have a total soft spot for 8-bit gaming.  It brings me back to my times in actual arcades playing The Simpsons and TMNT.  I totally plan to play this more, especially with my arcade stick, for the total old school experience!!!

Of course there are some cons, it does suck that it doesn’t have online multiplayer.  Which I hope can just be added via a patch, cause it would be a lot of fun to play online multiplayer.  And if we’re on the topic of patches, I think it would be nice if it had a jump in and out feature, cause it would be nice to get that help every so often.

Bottom line, Scott Pilgrim vs The World is a totally MUST buy!
