PlayStation Plus Members Get Online Game Save Storage

Well it’s good to be a PlayStation Plus subscriber this week! First members got exclusive access to the Mortal Kombat demo yesterday, today comes the announcement that members will get to send their precious game saves to the cloud at no additional fee! Sony has announced that included with the upcoming 3.60 system update will be the ability to back-up game save data as well as some copy protected save data (I’m looking at you Rock Band) to the cloud which can then be accessed on any PS3 by logging in with their PSN ID and password. The feature will be automatically available to Playstation Plus members but there is no mention of this being available to non-plus members (maybe for a fee) in the future. With the PSN down for maintenance at the time of writing this the feature should be accessible to Playstation Plus subscribers very soon.

I personally have stayed away from becoming a Playstation Plus member since they weren’t offering anything that was worthwhile for me to pay for but this feature just might be the thing that gets me to buy into a subscription. How many of you are excited for this feature? If you aren’t a Playstation Plus member, would this feature get you to be come one? Inquiring minds want to know!
