Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One Scores New Composer

They say that two heads are better than one, but I’m pretty sure four has the classic duo beat. Insomniac Games is hard at work making Ratch and Clank: All 4 One come to life, but the four-player element isn’t the only new addition to the franchise. Enter Michael Bross, accomplished and award-winning composer with such titles to his merit as Oddworld: Stranger’s Wrath and Oddworld: Munch’s Odyssey. Though this is the first time he’s worked with Insomniac’s popular series, he is eager to attack the project.

With these new additions, it should be noted that the style and humor that gamers have come to love shall remain safely intact. Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One will allow players to choose from Ratchet, Clank, Qwark and Dr. Nefarious in an effort to investigate the mysterious Creature Collector and find their way home. Working together will be the only way for these opposing factions to continue with their respective plans of good/evil. Thankfully with such a large feat in their hands, players will have access to drop in/drop out multiplayer online and off to keep things fluid, as well as the mastery of Michael Bross’ work to keep things interesting.

With over four hours of original music to be included, Bross aims to surround players on their journey with a new perspective sound in this fresh installment to the series without sacrificing the style of its predecessors.  Insomniac audio lead Jamie McMenamy states, “The deeper we get into the development of Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One, the more evident it becomes that Michael was the perfect choice as the composer for our project. His music is epic and innovative, providing the cutting edge sound and cinematic quality we desired for the game. We are truly excited to have him on board.”

Bross seems to be in eager agreement, as a fan of the Ratchet and Clank series himself, he hopes that his soundtrack doesn’t disappoint. Just as long as he can keep himself away from the controller long enough to finish the score; but with support for three friends to tag along, that might be harder than ever before.

Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One comes exclusively to the PlayStation 3 in Fall 2011.
