If Gamefly isn’t your thing and your local Blockbuster is kaput you now have a new option to rent video games. At the end of April Redbox announced that it will be adding video games to their rental units this June. After testing game rentals in 5000 units for two years to positive results the service will be spread out to over 21,000 Redbox units on June 17th. Rentals will cost $2 a day with top tier video games available for PlayStation 3, XBOX 360 and Wii. This could be a great and affordable alternative for those gamers that complain that they paid too much for a game they finished in two days. My one curiosity is how readily available will big title releases will be at these machines especially in heavily populated areas. I know there are a few Redbox machines in supermarkets near me so I’ll look out for them to get game rentals and maybe try it out. If any of our readers see the games available near them let us know what you think about the service.
