This weekend is the Maker Faire. The two-day celebration of the DIY movement features exhibits, demonstrations, and performances that run the gamut from the educational and entertaining to the purely whimsical. Last year’s World Maker Faire highlights included the world’s fastest Rubik’s cube solving robot, a musical performance accompanied by an indoor lightning storm made by Tesla coils, electric chariot racing, a life-sized taxi-smashing mousetrap, a bicycle-powered electric guitar windmill and rides on jet-powered ponies.
I can’t wait to see what is going to be there this year! If you want to go its at the NY Hall of Science in Queens. More information here.
