Nintendo announced the unsurprising news that they are releasing a sliding thumbpad attachment for the 3DS this December 10th in Japan for ¥1500 ($19.50). As if that wasn’t less than awesome enough news the attachment has to run on a single AAA battery instead of using the 3DS’ power supply. While it will work with some upcoming games, starting with the new Monster Hunter Tri G, I feel it’s pretty lousy that a much sought after feature came out after the 3DS was released at an additional cost. Maybe Nintendo should have just made the 3DS WITH a second analog pad from the beginning, at least they could have better justified the initial $250. Sony learned their lesson for the Vita, Nintendo should have done the same with this handheld… I’m just sayin’.
