I just don’t understand Sony sometimes. It’s like they live to constantly troll themselves when they have great products. First it was the technologically advanced PS3 that would become a great all-purpose entertainment center but it was originally at the hefty cost of $600. Then just when the console and the PlayStation Network were gaining a good amount of momentum they get hit with a major breach of security to their network (which could have been prevented with better security reinforcement on Sony’s end) which resulted in a month long network shutdown. While they did recover from those fumbles, and will always manage to do so in the future, it seems Sony still will not learn from past mistakes and continues to poop on their own good news, and the PS Vita is next in line for the trollathon.
According to GameStop’s website, they have listed the new proprietary memory card format for the PlayStation Vita. The card sizes will be available in 4, 8, 16, and 32 Gigabytes at the cost of $29.99, $44.99, $69.99, and $119.99 respectively. Nice way of making a brand new handheld console reasonably priced and countering that good news with news of having to purchase memory cards made just for this system and overpricing it. It’s this kind of “shoot yourself in the foot” method that Sony seems to enjoy and gets gamers, like myself, a little upset. Hopefully a company like SanDisk will make their own versions of the cards, similar to the memory stick duo’s, that will be priced more reasonably.
