Rockstar announce that HEALTH is composing the soundtrack and score for our upcoming action-shooter, Max Payne 3.

In addition to composing the dynamic in-game score, HEALTH will be creating exclusive songs for the game’s soundtrack. Health’s work on the score can also be heard in the latest trailer.

“We’re really excited to be working with HEALTH on this project, says Ivan Pavlovich, Soundtrack Supervisor for Rockstar Games. “They’ve brought a distinct energy and atmosphere to the game that perfectly fits Max’s dark story.”

“Video games are redefining entertainment and whether people like it or not, they are becoming as culturally relevant as films,” said the band. “We feel that Rockstar’s projects have an undeniably raw and tasteful aesthetic. It’s vitally important to us that we be involved in things we respect artistically. Max Payne 3 has a complex story that unfolds mercilessly and we are excited to be a part of it.”

The third game in the award-winning series, Max Payne 3 continues the story of tragic former NYPD cop Max Payne as he finds himself working executive security in São Paulo Brazil, protecting the family of wealthy industrialist Rodrigo Branco, and his beautiful trophy wife, Fabiana. When Fabiana is kidnapped while under his protection, Max suddenly finds himself on the streets of an unfamiliar city, searching for the truth, and fighting for a way out.
