Tanya and I are not fans of Facebook games. We’re not even going to lie about it, we both hate it when people send us a shit load of invites to games like that are not even that good. So when we got to the Dungeon Overlord we didn’t even know that it was a Facebook game. It was only after we were at the booth and well into the interview that we were surprised to found out that it was a Facebook game. So what is Dungeon Overlord?

  • A Free-to-Play Hardcore Strategy Game on Facebook
  • Build Dungeons, Assemble Armies, Expand your Empire
  • Kill Elves and Farm your Friends in PvE and PvP Action
  • Play Free from your PC @ http://dungeonoverlord.com
  • Enjoy nostalgic delight as you build your own virtual dungeon and assemble your evil army.
  • Discover hundreds of hours of content backed by a rich, massively multiplayer experience including PvP.
  • Finally, a social game without the traditional Facebook game annoyances.

Jump in and play, it’s free for advanced players too: Play Now

Another cool part about Dungeon Overlord, is that there is a mobile companion to the actual game. Currently available on Android phones with iOS to follow. I thought that was kinda cool that they published in the reverse with Android first and then iOS to follow, definitely an interesting move. The mobile features are pretty extensive, like:

• Connects with your existing Dungeons in Dungeon Overlord™ (both Classic and Infernal Abyss)
• Event Manager: Notification of incoming attacks, completed activities, and other in-game events
• Resource Manager: Collect Resources and Manage Mining Node activity
• Shipping Manager: Ship Resources between your Dungeons and to Friend’s Dungeons
• UPGRADE to the Full version of DOGMA to unlock 3 additional features (Crafting Manager, Creature Manager, and Research Manager)

The game sounded really appealing to us especially since it is aiming to be a game that appeals to the hardcore gamers. We will definitly give it a try. If you want to check it out for yourself you can get the Android version here.
