Pre-3: Nintendo Pre E3 Recap

So Nintendo did a live stream tonight at 6PM, to preview the Will U, specifically the hardware and some of the features that will be used with the Wii U.  No fear guys, the hardware is getting a definite upgrade and you don’t have to get new Wiimotes, Nunchuks or Balance Boards.  Nintendo introduced the WiiU Game Pad (new controller for Wii U), Miiverse (Mii + Universe), Wii Wara Wara (a new social network within Nintendo), and a new Wii controller (that looks like a 360 controller, which will be sold separately).

Check out more below.

There was a part where they showed off a commerical about the new Wii Wara Wara social networking system, and I was a bit confused?  I thought Nintendo was all about the safety of the children, and not allowing randoms to chat with other randoms.  However in the commercial a guy was stuck on a level and “tweeted” for help and got help from a random gamer.  The advice given wasn’t too helpful so the stuck gamer proceed to call and video chat with the random, that was the confusing part.  Was he in his network?  Was he a friend of a friend? Or just completely random?  If he was a complete random, Wii U is going to be the new Chat Roulette for gamers. The video also showed off the changes made to the WiiU gamepad as well as a black colored gamepad unit.

These new features are really intriguing but I would like some more clarifiaction on how this all will work. Supposedly we will get more info and some concrete demonstrations of how the WiiU will blow our minds on Tuesday. Now all we can do is wait for E3 to kick off and have us drooling. If you missed the Pre-conference you can watch it above.
