Review: MadCatz PC peripherals (S.T.R.I.K.E 7 keyboard, M.O.U.S 9 mouse, and G.L.I.D.E 7 Gaming Surface)

We got a sweet package over the weekend during NCR 2013, and I finally have had the time to actually write about all the stuff that I got, since I was in St Maarten doing Carnival. It was a total surprise, as I wasn’t expecting it to come before I got an email from MadCatz.  Anyhow the contents of my mystery packaged included a S.T.R.I.K.E 7 Keyboard, M.O.U.S 9 Mouse, and a GLIDE 7 Gaming Surface.  So I thought would give a quick review all three together!

LOVEs:

  • GAMING SURFACE – I’m a huge fan of gaming surfaces – not just for gaming but in general – this one is pretty sweet (NOTE: There are different speeds for their surfaces.)
  • GAMING SURFACE – I love the box it comes in and you can store it in there as well if you travel with it
  • MOUSE – I love the color (We got the red one, comes in black (matte and gloss) and white as well)
  • MOUSE – I love that it comes with a pouch and the bluetooth dongle fits into the mouse for easy traveling
  • KEYBOARD – I love the lights – it’s backlit where you can customize the color as well (I have it on PURPLE cause its my favorite)
  • KEYBOARD – I love the quick launches & pre installed modes as well

HATEs:

  • MOUSE – Sometimes it disconnects randomly and then has to be unplugged and replugged in order to reconnect to the computer
  • KEYBOARD – Randomly disconnected on me – I had to unplug the keyboard’s AC adapter and then replug in to get a connection going (not sure what happened there)
  • KEYBOARD – Some of the customization is not well explained even when you go online and check it out – it takes a bit of playing around
  • KEYBOARD – Firmware updates – why is this so complex – should not be this hard to do

All these items can be purchased via the GameShark online store.
