Review: Plantronics “RIG” headset

plantronic

I got the chance to get my hands on the Plantronics RIG headset ahead of the release date!  So I put it through my brutal day-to-day schedule.  Usually my day starts at about 7AM getting mini Bifu to school, then to work, then at work, and then back home.  That’s my usual day-to-day, so that’s a lot of travel (about 2 -3 hrs), and then 8 hrs at work sometimes more, but all of includes a lot of Spotify and music on my phone to get me through the day.  With that all say here is my review of the Plantronics RIG headset.

LOVEs:

  • The two different mics I can use, there is a “gaming” one and a “mobile” one
  • I can hook my phone and my computer to the mixer and not have to worry about having to stop my music to answer a phone which is a pain with my old headset
  • No drivers needed!  Thank you for that its a pain to have to always update accessories
  • Feels good on my ears, I wear glasses 12+ hrs during the day and the pressing against my temples is killer, and the RIG doesn’t do that!

HATEs:

  • No carrying case… I found myself having to throw the mixer right in my bag and I fear that its going to get scratched
  • No stopper for the USB wires, I always hate it when I accidentally separate the cords too much and then have to just deal with it
  • No noise canceling but its not that serious, I just crank up the music more!

Overall, if you are looking for a great headset that lets you multitask and not have to switch too much, then this is the headset for you!
