We got a chance to hit up the Midnight City booth, to check out some indie games. One of the games that we got to check out was called High Strangeness, this really cool NES/SNES style game where the hero Boyd is out on an adventure. High Strangeness has been in development in various forms for several years. The project is a collaboration between Barnyard Intelligence Games and Crystal Labs. It was one of the first successfully kickstarted games, being fully funded in 2009. In January 2013, High Strangeness was chosen to be part of the MAGFest 11 Indie Games Showcase.
Features:
- Dynamic 8 and 16 bit visuals (dubbed 12 bit gaming) bring players into a stunning adventure, with mind-bending transitions and watercolor illustrations
- Adventure puzzle gameplay challenges players to use their critical skills in both environments
- Chiptune soundtrack that both sets the mood and pulls players deeper into this classically inspired world
