So I’ve been on this kick lately trying to find the right monthly subscription box just right for me. I’ve ruled out LootCrate because I feel like most of the content in the box is just junk, with the occasional t-shirt, which isn’t every month. I would prefer to just have an option where I’m guaranteed a shirt every time, but thinking about that I don’t even know if I would like that because what if the shirt sucks? So then I thought I should just find monthly subscriptions that I would definitely and enjoy, started doing research and found out that there are monthly Japanese candy boxes. So I’ve made it my mission to try them! Last month we reviewed the JapanCrate box (Part 1 and Part 2), and although there were a lot of good candies in the box there were equally bad candies in the box, especially that nasty DIY wafer decoration kit. This month we got to review Skoshbox, check out our LOVEs and DISLIKEs,
LOVEs:
- The price point
- Selection of candies/snacks, BONUS POINTS for having the ability to re-order candies/snacks from the current box on their site
- Branding and personal touches on the inside cover from the packager
DISLIKEs:
- Honestly, I didn’t have any gripes with the boxes
Comparing this box to JapanCrate’s subscription box that we tried last month, I would have to say that I like these boxes more because of the presentation and the assortment of snacks both savory and sweet. There are definitely some pluses to JapanCrate as far as the quantity vs price, however I thought that the Skoshbox had a better variety.
If you’re interested in getting your own Skoshbox, check out their site and order your monthly subscription today!
