Independent video game developer and publisher, Psyonix, announced today that Rocket League, the sports-action hit that has surprised and delighted the worldwide gaming community, will deliver an all-new, FREE update featuring “Mutators” — a cool suite of alternative presets and settings that add depth, variety, and crazy rocket-powered fun to custom games. The new update will be available on the PlayStation™Network and Steam PC this November.
With the introduction of “Mutators,” Rocket League players will soon be able to play a variety of interesting new game-alts, including the low-gravity “Moonball” or the classic Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars game modes,”Cubic” and “Time Warp,” to name just a few. A special playlist, entitled “Mutator Mashup,” will also launch in November and these combine several preset modes into a single, randomized list of online games.
A highly-requested Mutator mode based on the sport of Hockey will be available in December.
Following today’s announcement, Psyonix will also hold a live developer stream that goes in-depth with the new Mutators shown in the trailer starting 5pm Eastern/ 2pm Pacific on Thursday, October 29 on the official Rocket League Twitch Channel (www.twitch.tv/RocketLeague).
Following the live Twitch stream, Psyonix also will hold a Reddit AMA (“Ask Me Anything”) on Tuesday, November 3 to follow up on any outstanding player questions.
