Today, Bear and Breakfast – the long-awaited debut title from Gummy Cat – launches today on Steam, published by Armor Games Studios.
Bear and Breakfast is a laid-back management adventure game about building and running a bed & breakfast. There’s just one tiny complicating factor: you’re a bear.
After our furry protagonist Hank and his friends find an abandoned shack in the woods, the gang spot the opportunity to make some money and get to work converting it into a cozy B&B. Players will help Hank remodel the shack into the go-to nature escape for the sorts of paying customers who don’t mind finding a few hairs in their cereal.
As Hank, build and personalize your inn with dozens of guest rooms, bathrooms, parlors, and entertainment. Customize individual rooms with furniture and fixes, keep your guests happy to earn money and maintain your reputation, and complete quests to collect new items and perks.
Hiking through forest, rivers, and tastefully decorated corridors, players will meet a wide cast of forest critters and tired cityfolk to befriend and co-operate with. But beware: behind the well-varnished veneer of Hank’s enrepreneureal outlet lie eerie mysteries that could uproot not only the foundations of Hank’s B&B, but also the very woods themselves.
Rares Cinteza, Game Director at Gummy Cat, said: “The feeling of launching our first game is very weird. It’s being tired, anxious, scared, pragmatic, hopeful, excited all at once. We can’t wait for it to be finally over while simultaneously feeling sad because you can tell it will never feel quite like this ever again.”
Bear and Breakfast is available now on PC via Steam, priced $19.99 USD. The game will also be available on Nintendo Switch in the near future.
