REVIEW: Piczle Cross: Story of Seasons [PC]

I got the chance to review Piczle Cross: Story of Seasons, on PC. I am a huge fan of Picross so when I got the change to play this one I jumped at.

Quick background about Piczle Cross: Story of Seasons players experience addictive nonogram logic-puzzles that celebrate the beloved farm life game series by exercising their brain with classic logic-puzzles. Favourite villagers and bachelors, tools and crops, animals and upgrades in nonogram form will provide you with countless hours of puzzling!

For some context, I’m about 30 hours into the game, with about 174 puzzles completed including 2 collages. As all our reviews we like to do a quick TL:DR of our likes and dislikes.

Likes:

  • The variety of puzzles that are available
  • Having an almanac is nice to have as it gives some context into some of the puzzles completed
  • Having a journal is nice as well, it helps me keep track of all the achievements that I’ve done (for those of you that are completists)

Dislikes:

  • A lot of the HUD is displayed as if I’m using a controller, when I’m in fact using mouse and keyboard
  • Some of the colors of the puzzles make it really hard to tell what you are doing, it would have been nice to have an option to just keep it one particular color rather than it changing
