Hidden in my Paradise, the cozy hidden-object game about decorating and taking photos developed by Ogre Pixel, invites the cozy community to create cheerful locales on Nintendo Switch, Steam (PC Mac, and verified on Steam Deck), and mobile via Crunchyroll.
I got the chance to play and review this game. To preface, I finished the game and got to stream some of it on my Twitch channel. Here are my pros/cons:
PROs:
- It’s a really cozy game. If you like hidden picture games, which I have since I was a kid, this is for you
- The animation and art style is great (this is from the same developer that made A Sticker Tale)
- It’s a new twist on the hidden picture games by adding ‘Hidden Snaps’, which is like a cool photo mode/match game within a game
- It has a gachapon shop to unlock objects for the pictures! Who doesn’t like gachapon?!
- If you interested in making your own hidden picture dioramas, you can do so in their Sandbox mode. This is where the gachapon shop comes into play because that is how you unlock the items to build your own pictures.
CONs:
- The hidden snaps feature was very finicky. There were dioramas that I made that had to match precisely like photo or else it wouldn’t accept it. But other dioramas I made would have other random objects that were not in the original diorama but it would accept it right away.
- I wanted more…that’s not really a con but I hope they release more content!
