The historic milestone is part of an action-packed weekend featuring 12 fighting game titles and more than 10,000 competitors, offering a combined ¥30,000,000 prize pool.

“We knew Evo Japan was going to be record-breaking, but we are honored to be recognized by GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS. It’s a true testament to the fighting game community with a passion for all of our titles, but specifically for Street Fighter 6,” said Rick Thiher, General Manager of Evo

“I entered my first tournament in 1994, and it absolutely warms my heart to see the continued growth of fighting games year over year and now culminating 32 years later at Evo Japan setting a magnificent and unprecedented standard for our community,”  said 2026 Evo Hall of Fame Inductee Ryan Hart, who also holds four world records within the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS for most international fighting videogame competition wins.

Evo Las Vegas, the flagship event, returns to the Las Vegas Convention Center on June 26-28 with Chipotle® as presenting partner. Player registrations, now open at evo.gg until May 5 with a registration fee increase until May 25, will determine which game titles will be played in the Arena Finals in Japan and Las Vegas.  Evo France returns to Europe at the Palais des Expos in Nice, France, on October 9-11.
